Profile

Andy has successfully litigated on the merits before juries in state and federal courts in Louisiana and Alabama in cases involving traditional torts, and in cases involving environmental exposures, and insurance coverage issues (declaratory judgments and Direct Actions). Andy has worked closely with neurological experts in the defense of mild traumatic brain injury cases. He has also engaged in extensive motion practice on coverage issues, and he has participated in over one hundred mediations. He has authored a wide variety of opinions on insurance coverage involving occurrence-based and claims made policies. Andy has lectured on insurance issues involving automobile liability and UM exposures, homeowner exposures (particularly in the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita) and construction contractor exposures (particularly as a result of Chinese drywall based claims). Most recently, Andy has been called upon to examine increased exposures, if any, of homeowner insurers, in the wake of the BP Deepwater Horizon oil leak disaster in the Gulf of Mexico.

Andy has been chosen as a "Super Lawyer" in the field of insurance coverage and has been consistently listed in The Best Lawyers In America in the fields of Insurance Law and Environmental Law.
