Scott has a diverse litigation practice, which focuses primarily on the construction and energy industries, but also includes automobile and trucking litigation, product and premises liability, and environmental exposure litigation. His experience includes all stages of litigation including trying cases to verdict, and handling construction disputes before arbitration panels, from small claims to large, complex arbitrations. Scott’s energy industry practice includes the defense of natural gas pipeline operators, as well as the defense of exploration and production companies in claims involving personal injury, property damage and environmental pollution.

Scott’s experience also includes a substantial emphasis on appellate practice. He has handled briefing and oral arguments before all five Louisiana courts of appeal, and prepared and defended against writ applications to those courts and the Louisiana Supreme Court. He has also handled briefing before the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of the United States. In the course of his appellate work, Scott has successfully defended numerous favorable judgments and verdicts, and obtained writ relief resulting in dismissals of claims against clients.
